Douglas is the founder and CEO of Appairy, as well as the lead of Business Development. A gifted technologist visionary, with a strong resume of patents and corporate success. Douglas founded start-ups including: Freedom Bionics, providing communications and cognitive assistance app design in the Healthcare space; Icron Systems, specializing in high performance USB and video extensions, and Xinex, which developed the first VoIP phone in 1994, pioneering a now billion-dollar industry. He holds a patent related to VoIP (voice over internet protocol) and has contributed to several other patents, including USB extended range technology while CEO at Icron Systems.
Douglas attended University of British Colombia as a Computer Science major and enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces in his late teen years.
Walter has nearly 40 years in the production management environment. After graduating with a B.Sc.(Hon) in Engineering-Physics, Walter spent 10 years with Michelin Tire in Industrial Engineering, supervision and Quality Control. This led to 6 years with National Sea Products, doing Industrial Engineering, New Product Development, and Purchasing. After coming west, Walter taught for 2 years at BCIT in the Operations Management faculty, a year of consulting at Yves Veggie Cuisine (Hains Celestial), and 2 years as Production Manager at Coca-Cola. Walter was then an Industrial Technology Advisor with the National Research Council program IRAP for 18 years, meeting 75-100 new companies per year. Walter was essentially a government Angel Investor, mentoring and investing in small companies.
As well as the Engineering-Physics degree, Walter has a P.Eng in Industrial Engineering, and is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (22 years).
Paul is the Financial Controller at Appairy. He is a member of the Certified General Accountants Association of BC and has over 15 years of experience, working in public accounting, as a CRA auditor and the not-for-profit sector.
Paul holds several business degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Southern Queensland in Australia and completed his MBA at the University of East Asia.
Dan leads the Software and Apps development team at Appairy. With over 20 years of experience in software development, Dan is a tech native leading development for Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft and Cisco as well as in the start-up world. Dan brings his expertise in server and back-end programming, Android network, background processing and systems programming to lead the next wave in supercomputing with Appairy. During his time at Microsoft, he was a key team member in creating MS Mail for Windows, porting the network courier for DOS to Windows 3.1.
Dan studied computer programming at the University of Alberta and North Alberta Institute of Technology.
